Birthday

I love nothing more than the simplicity of spending all morning in my jammers and not listening to an alarm wake me. LOVE. Capital letters and all.

I'm kinda super geeked because I applied for the Masters of Social Work program at Portland University. When I say I applied I mean I made great head way on my application packet. It hasn't been as painful as I anticipated. It's also a joint program with the Peace Corps which is great because it means that I can do some overseas travelling and volunteer work. I've been feeling guilty about giving up that dream a few years ago, and all over a silly boy. Well not any longer I tell ya!

Well in other news, today I attended a birthday party for Jesus. Bean asked me the other day if that meant Jesus was going to be there which was also folllowed by intense curiosity about cake. This party was both painful and stitch in my side hilarious. There was a group of three and four year olds. Doing a presentation on continents. No no not third and fourth graders. PRESCHOOLERS. Singing three songs, making complex dioramas and giving a speech, for EACH continent. If you haven't already inferred, the singing was painfully funny and the presentations were just painful. It was also sooo not veganish friendly. I'm just used to at this point being hungry at restaurants or events or being reduced to a horrendous salad.

Well I got home and fixed one of my favorite meals, bean burgers, salsa, veggies and salad and did another one of my guilty pleasures. Get your mind out of the gutter. I love looking at informational picture slides from various news websites. Nerd. Yes, painfully so. The evening also entailed a guitar lesson via Skype. It's actually a tad easier for me this way. Nerves that would get to me in person kinda melt away over the tangles of internet waves. I'm still waiting for music to be shipped, but alas that's the joy of living in the boonies I suppose. Well my warm tea is making me drowsy so it's off to bed for me. Gonna attempt to take a yoga lesson tomorrow. We shall see.
