When a grown woman is shivering her hynie off whilst wearing: 2 pairs of wool socks, long undies, three shirts and a double layered coat, gloves and a hat and then watches a 2 year old running around with nothing more than a long sleeved coat....it's adaptability in action.
(see the snow on the trees?)
Let me just tell you that this morning it was a whopping 1 degree outside and my digits were numb just walking to the car. Well pulling up to M's school there were parents just wearing hoodies and kids in light jackets not seeming to complain AT ALL.
Not to beat a dead horse but the basement in the house reminds me of home, just cold enough to not freeze you to death but cold enough to convert you to tea drinking. Well I'm under all the above mentioned layers just swap the coat for a huge thick blanket still cold and Bean is in a sun dress and tights and is perfectly OK.
So yes, I've converted to tea drinking, wool socks and driving pick up trucks. Going home to Chicago in a year will be a piece of cake I tell you.
(various views of my backyard...it's a beach...with a volcano...these don't do it justice...but as mentioned above I was too cold to go outside)
